Synopsis
This episode follows archaeologists as they pore over human and other remains at sites around the world. A skeleton found at Virginia's Jamestown colony reveals the hardships settlers faced. In Texas, the question is whether an outlaw supposedly hanged in 1878 was, in fact, executed. A South African archaeologist unearths 16th-century royalty. And in Egypt it's the workers who built the pyramids who are unearthed. They were treated well. "Without them," says Zahi Hawass of the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities, "the king wouldn't be a god."
