Debuting in 1997, the British game show Scavengers was co-hosted by a human being and a robot. Or, more precisely, John Leslie appeared as "himself," while the lissom Anna Galvin assumed the clinky-clanky guise of Robot #235. On each episode, four players in two team competed in mental and physical challenges in order to accumulate salvage from an "abandoned spaceship" -- within a strict time limit, of course. The series rather resembled Supermarket Sweep, only with castaway technology substituting for foodstuffs. Scavengers was broadcast by the ITV service.
