Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter
This is the last part of a four volume series called Ring of Fire, which chronicles the 10 year adventure of two brothers through Indonesia. In this episode, Lawrence and Lorne Blair seek the nomadic Punan Dyaks, a tribe in the rainforest interior of Borneo. Against a backdrop of spectacular scenery, the Blairs struggle with the adverse elements of the jungle: monsoons, quicksand, frightening insects, and leeches. Their perseverance is rewarded with contact with this tribe of "dream wanderers", and they are kindly initiated into the spiritual mysteries of the tribe. In a moment worthy of a chapter in a C.G. Jung or Joseph Campbell book, the brothers are tatooed with the archetypal symbol of the commonality of sentient life forms: the tree of life.
