Synopsis by Janiss Garza
School teacher Ruth Baird (Elaine Hammerstein) lives and works in a rural village. She's one of the Hatfield clan, and is forbidden to see the man she loves, Enoch Morrison (Niles Welsh) because of a feud between her relatives and his. But they sneak off together to have their fortunes told on Mammy Jones' island. A storm keeps them on the island overnight, and when they return, Morrison is arrested for the murder of Cameron Hatfield (Effington Pinto), who was shot with Morrison's gun. Even though her uncle threatens to shoot her if she testifies on her lover's behalf, Ruth takes the stand. But the youngest Hatfield boy reveals that he had found the gun and accidentally shot his own brother. The two families reconcile and Ruth and Enoch are able to be together.
