Synopsis by Alice Day
The Reading Rainbow series has won many awards, including honors from parents and educators' associations as well as multiple Emmys. In addition to encouraging young children to read, it makes them more aware of important cultural and social issues in the world. Reading Rainbow: How Much Is a Million? is another exploration into math, as the featured story examines the concept of one million. Viewers will visit the Crayola plant to see crayons made, and then look behind the scenes at Giants Stadium in New Jersey to find out how food vendors calculate the quantity of food to prepare.
