Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
This feature film was nearly completed just before the military coup which ousted Marxist Salvador Allende in Chile. When the military took over, the sound-tracks were largely destroyed, and the director, now an exile in Venezuela, was forced to seek out lip-readers to reconstruct the dialogue for re-dubbing in Chilean Spanish. In the story, set in 1967, a group of more radical leftists are forced into hiding when their "direct action" attempts to change the political situation in Chile fail. In order to continue their efforts to change the government, they undertake a bank robbery.
