Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Olive Thomas is Prudence, a Quaker girl whose parents send her from their home in Pennsylvania to a boarding school in New York City, so that she can learn how to fight the ways of the Devil firsthand. But Prudence is not your usual modest maiden, and she picks up bridge, poker, and the city's nightlife with an impish spirit. The men in the social set are all intrigued by her, especially Grayson Mills (Francis McDonald), who is the "catch" of the season. When Prudence loses 200 dollars at cards, the sleazy John Melbourne (Harvey Clark) loans her money. Then he forces her to meet him at a roadhouse by threatening to show the canceled check to her parents. Prudence, however, gets the best of the situation by showing him a letter he had written to a former mistress, and telling him that she possesses nineteen more that will be delivered to his wife if Prudence isn't returned home by midnight. He speedily brings her back to her hotel, and she gets there just in time for her date with Grayson.
