The Proto Media Primer collects outtakes from the Raindance media collective's "cultural databank". The databank was created during the late 60s and early 70s in an effort to capture, using video technology, the look and feel of American life. While not categorically successful as a project, this tape is an unqualified success and an exceptional window into America's past. Included on this tape is an interview with Abbie Hoffman and footage of an early survellience camera in a grocery stores, as well as more mundane fare like Hari Krishnas, a gigolo, and children playing in front of the camera.
