synopsis
Directed by Ivan Dykhovichnyi, Prova (released in the U.S. as Moscow Parade) is one of the first dramas about the Stalinist era made after the collapse of the U.S.S.R. Set during the summer of 1939 when Nazi Germany and Stalinist Russia joined forces, the story focuses on a cabaret singer (German star Ute Lemper) who is married to an elite member of Stalin's secret police. Though her family is murdered by the KGB, the singer remains married to the policeman in order to live in luxury. Things begin to change when she meets a handsome stranger. Featuring lots of song and dance numbers from Lemper.
