Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
This drama explores what has become of Russians who were welcomed to the U.S. at the height of the cold war, in 1982, as dissidents, up-and-coming intellectuals and writers. In 1992, after the dissolution of the U.S.S.R., their situation is more ambiguous, and they have become neglected relics of a previous age. After all, their claim to fame as thinkers persecuted by their home nation has ceased to exist. The parts are played by Russian immigrants from that time period, some of them experienced actors, speaking English as well as they can.
