synopsis
Inexpensively filmed in Canada, Power starred Holbrook Blinn as crooked politician/gambling house proprietor Ted Hartigan. His daughter Nancy (Mabel Trunnelle) is in love with Dick (John Carleton), the son of one of Hartigan's chief cronies, Bill Shaunessy (Ferdinand Tidmarsh). Opposing his son's marriage to Nancy, Shaunessy sets about to destroy Hartigan by aligning himself with his ex-boss' bitterest rival, Philip J. Bilton (Bigelow Cooper). But Hartigan turns the tables on Shaunessy and Bilton, and it is they who wind up in the hoosegow. Agreeing to arrange Shaunessy's release in exchange for a 20,000-dollar bribe, the rogueish Hartigan uses the money as a wedding present for Nancy and Dick.
