synopsis
Throughout our solar system, extremely powerful storms are constantly erupting on other planets. This Discovery Channel video uses computer-generated special effects to demonstrate what might happen if some of these storms wreaked their havoc on earth. Viewers see how the earth could be destroyed by volcanic eruptions similar to those regularly occurring on Jupiter's moon, Io, or by the types of dust storms that often sweep across Mars in mile-high sheets of blinding particles. Another segment shows what could happen if extremely powerful lightning were to strike the earth with the same force that's regularly unleashed elsewhere in the galaxy.
