This 1989 classical concert was commissioned by the United Nations High Commission for Refugees, and mounted at UNESCO in Paris, France. Dedicated to the 16,000 refugees around the world, it features a series of arias by some of the most accomplished solo vocalists. These artists include: Placido Domingo (Quando le sere al placido from Verdi's Luisa Miller), Shirley Verrett (Vissi d'arte from Puccini's Tosca), Simon Estes (Iago's 'Credo' from Verdi's Otello) and Wang Yan Yan (Tu che le vanita cognoscenti from Verdi's Don Carlos).
