Claude Debussy's five-act 1902 lyric drama Pelléas et Mélisande receives an interpretation by the Theater an der Wien in this 2009 production. With a libretto by Maurice Maeterlinck, the opera stars Natalie Dessay as Mélisande, Stéphane Degout as Pelléas and Laurent Naouri as Golaud. Laurent Pelly designed the costumes and directs for the stage, Chantal Thomas did the sets, and ORF-Radiosymphonieorchester Wien and the Arnold Schoenberg Chor provide musical accompaniment.Bertrand de Billy conducts.
