Synopsis by Mark Deming

A voyeur shares the tricks of his trade with a curious academic in this independent comedy. By day, Steve Sherman (Joe Cobden) seems like an ordinary working stiff, but at night he and his friends devote themselves to an unusual and dangerous hobby -- they're "peepers" who make their way to the tops of buildings in downtown Montreal to look into the windows below, hoping to catch a glimpse of nudity or illicit behavior through open curtains. One night, Steve and his pals are on the lookout for a "panty party" or "hottie hookup" when they realize someone is watching them; Annette Fulvish (Janine Theriault), a college professor who teaches a course in "voyeur theory," is conducting a study on folks who like to watch in hopes of winning a prestigious academic fellowship. Against their better judgment, Steve and his pals let Annette tag along to observe them in their natural environment, but having her around puts a serious crimp in their style, especially when one of the peepers becomes infatuated with the professor. The first feature film from Automatic Vaudeville, a Montreal-based production company and improv comedy troupe, Peepers was an official selection at the 2010 Just For Laughs Comedy Film Festival.
