Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
Director Giuliano Tomei has fashioned a male-oriented travelog of Japan in this standard documentary and he is not above exploiting some of the stranger or more prurient images captured by the camera crew. Aside from the usual Japanese highlights, he has several scenes with females in various stages of undress though there are technically no nude shots. He also notes the eye operations that at least some Japanese believe will make them look more Western. Along with this oddity, there are other cultural observations that confirm the fact that Japan is a male-dominated society -- in case there were any doubts.
