Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Bessie Love is well-cast in this modest little comedy-drama. Matthew Gordon (Willis Marks) is a bookworm and a dreamer whose plans never work out. As a result, he has to move himself and his two daughters, Peggy (Love) and Frances (Myrtle Reeves who later became Mrs. Oliver Hardy), to humbler quarters. Peggy takes the change in stride; she rolls up her sleeves and proceeds to plant vegetables in the garden. Frances isn't so resourceful; she misses the social life she once had. The people next door to the Gordons are well off, and Peggy begins a romance with their son, believing that he is the chauffeur. While their relationship develops, Frances gets involved with a questionable character and makes plans to elope with him. Peggy saves Frances from disgrace, but comes close to compromising herself instead. Her sweetheart comes to the rescue and his real identity is finally established.
