Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
Based on a paperback called Mi Boda Contigo by Corin Tellado, the Barbara Cartland of South America, the hot passions in the Tellado story (about the marriage of an adopted daughter to her father), are cooled by extensive dialogue in this routine, slow-paced film. When a young girl in poor health is forced into a hospital stay that her poor family cannot afford, the medical bills are generously covered by a childless couple. In gratitude for their help, the father gives them his daughter to raise as their own. A full two decades go by, and the little girl has matured into womanhood. It is exactly at that point that her adopted mother dies, and in a shocking turnaround, the young woman marries her adopted father. Although she ostensibly demands a platonic relationship, her actions contradict her words -- a situation that cannot continue indefinitely.
