Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
Totally committed to the Communist Party and its principles, the hero of this movie got drunk on his 45th birthday and hit a pedestrian. Unwilling to evade any law or its consequences, he confesses and is sentenced to 18 months in jail. Because of his Party membership, the jailors and prisoners take him for an informer, but after an incident in the prison bathroom, they see he is a regular fellow and that at least some Party members are trustworthy human beings. When he leaves prison, his wife, though she may have been unfaithful during his prison term, is overjoyed to see him, and he is also overjoyed to see her.
