Set in the midst of the Cold War, this taut and convoluted espionage thriller is set in Berlin tells the tale of an intelligence officers attempts to rescue a soldier who has been captured by the communists and taken through the wall to East Berlin. If the Westerners send a former German general and his wife to their headquarters, the captors will release the boy unharmed. The agent's search is only hindered by the presence of the abducted boy's wealthy, obnoxious father.
