Synopsis by Mark Deming
Nickelback's passionate but muscular hard rock sound has made them one of the biggest success stories of Canadian rock in recent memory, with the Vancouver-based band moving over four million copies of their album Silver Side Up and lead singer Chad Kroeger scoring a hit single with "Hero," the theme song from the hit film Spider-Man. Nickelback: Unauthorized - Fragile This Side Up is a documentary which looks at the band's history, their rise to fame, how they came to manage and promote themselves, and the burgeoning rock scene in Vancouver. Due to licensing restrictions, Nickelback: Unauthorized - Fragile This Side Up features no music or performances by Nickelback.
