Shinji tries to acclimate to a normal life in Tokyo-3, and begins school, where he meets his new classmates Kensuke Aida, Hikari Horaki, and the tough-guy Toji Suzuhara. Toji is very angry that his sister was injured in the angel attack, and he is prepared to make Shinji's adjustment a difficult one.
