Myriam Hernandez: The Best of the Best Live (2008)

Synopsis by Nathan Southern
One of the most celebrated of all contemporary Chilean singers, Latin pop star Myriam Hernandez soared to fame on the basis of her smash 1988 single "El hombre que yo amo" (and the eponymous accompanying album); successive follow-up efforts, including 1992's Todo Lo Mio, 1998's Todo El Amor and 2000's Y Mas, dramatically broadened Hernandez's fanbase even as they continually revealed her stylistic attachment to romantic ballads. As its title suggests, the performance film Myriam Hernandez: The Best of the Best Live finds Hernandez delivering a live set at Santiago's Teatro Caupolican, with the added support of a live band and numerous dancers. Selections include "Lena y Fuego" and "El Hombre Que Yo Amo."
