Filmmakers Bob Connelly and Sophie Raymond present this portrait of devoted music teacher Karen Carey, and document her tireless efforts to prepare the students at an all-girl high school in Sydney, Australia to prepare for a crucial performance at the city's famed Opera House. The harder Carey works to inspire her gifted young students, however, the more resistance she gets from rebellious 16-year-old Iris Shi, who challenges the teacher's authority at every turn. Meanwhile, as the students practice the classical repertoire, the more star pupil Emily Sun seems to lose her focus. As the performance draws near and Emily practices her Bruch Violin solo, Mrs. Carey quickly realizes that she has her work cut out for her.
