Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
In an era where simple tattoos have become passé and the more adventurous have turned to scarification, implants, and even surgery to expand their physical horizons, filmmakers Greg Jacobson and Jason Gary take an unflinching look at the most extreme body modifications ever attempted. In addition to speaking with thirty unique individuals who have altered their external appearances in order to better express themselves, Jacobson and Gary also conduct interviews with the pioneering artists, surgeons, cutters, tattooists, and body artists who made these extreme modifications a reality. With more than fifty body modification procedures including tanning, waxing, bodybuilding, tattooing, elective amputations, tongue splitting, trans-gender surgeries, and everything in between captured on camera, Modify may horrify, but it may also open your mind in ways you never thought possible.
