Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Bobby Burns and Walter Stull directed and starred in a series of comedies in the mid-1910s as the characters Jabbs and Pokes. This one-reeler was one of many made during their days at the Vim studios. Pokes and Jabbs are neighbors in an apartment building. For Mrs. Jabbs' birthday, her husband gives her a pearl necklace. On her way out, she runs into Pokes who admires it. Jabbs and Mrs. Pokes both spy this scene and think their spouses are embroiled in a romance. Things get more complicated when they all receive tickets to a masked ball. Pokes shows up with Jabbs, who is dressed in drag, while Mrs. Jabbs brings Mrs. Pokes, who is wearing her husband's clothing. Now, Jabbs and Mrs. Pokes really believe their mates are two-timing them! When Jabbs loses his skirt, explanations and resolution follow. A supporting player in many of the Pokes and Jabbs pictures is Oliver Hardy; later on, when he would team with Stan Laurel, Burns would wind up supporting them in many of their classic comedies.
