In 1942, the resourceful people of Chauchia grow weary of the Japanese occupation of their village. With the help of the communist Eighth Route Army they devise a variety of techniques for harassing the Japanese using homemade land mines. This Chinese film, produced by the People's Liberation Army, is consistently cheerful and upbeat.
