Synopsis by Dan Pavlides
This uneven drama finds an orphan girl (Bessie Love) running away from a convent and being taken in by a riverboat captain. He sends her to live with his brother in a small town. The girl grows into a young woman and manages to win the local beauty contest. When she receives an opportunity with a theatrical agent, her foster father is against the proposal. She becomes an overnight sensation but meets with local disapproval and open hostility for her career choices. She and a local man fall for each other and make plans for their future together. Truman Van Dyke, Frances Raymond, and C. Norman Hammond are also featured.
