In this sequel to Whispering Smith, Smith (J.P. McGowan, who also directed) is hot on the trail of some train robbers, but when he finds out that they are led by Murray Sinclair (Paul C. Hurst), it stops him in his tracks. Sinclair is the husband of Smith's former sweetheart, Marion (Helen Holmes). However, when the robber and his crew hold up the Beaver Express and make off with a load of cash, Smith is obliged to pursue them. Believing that Marion still loves her wayward husband, Smith decides to let Sinclair kill him. When the posse and the robbers finally clash, Smith is knocked down and Sinclair is shot dead. Smith returns to Medicine Bend to discover that he's the one Marion loves, and they reunite. This film, along with the prior Whispering Smith, were based on a novel by Frank Spearman.
