Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The old David Belasco stage favorite May Blossom was brought to life on screen by "journeyman's journeyman" director Alan Dwan. A Civil War story, the film deals with the redemption of the dissolute hero Richard Ashcroft (Marshall Neilan). Alone on the battlefield, Ashcroft experiences an epiphany, emerging as a strong-willed hero instead of a craven coward. In so doing, he wins the love of the beautiful May Blossom (Gertrude Robinson), who previously and contemptuously had spurned him. Leading man Marshall Neilan would soon become a prominent director in his own right.
