Synopsis by Perry Seibert
Part of the Masters of Photography series, this program documents the life and career of Edward Steichen who first began taking pictures at the turn of the century. He was one of the first Americans to utilize the Lumiere brothers color technology at that time. He took official war photographs during the First World War, and then his work went on to become a fixture on the pages of Vanity Fair. The man was also hired to snap pictures of some of the most celebrated figures of the time.
