Synopsis by Nathan Southern
The Indian crime drama Maseeha unfolds in a violence-ridden land, ruled over by the powerful crime lord Surajbhan (Mukesh Rishi) - who wields an iron fist from his central headquarters of Shantinagar. Living nearby is the good-natured Shankar (Brijesh) who once worked in Surajbhan's employ but withdrew as his moral convictions became firmer. Still incensed by this, Surajbhan decides to rub out both Shankar and his wife, Parvati (Bina) - orphaning their son Shiva. The boy then flees to another section of town, where a young mother, Janaki (Shama Deshpande) takes him into her custody - and Shiva grows up in exile with Janaki's son, Vijay. Much time passes; now college-bound, Shiva (Inder Kumar) befriends Pinky (Namrata Shirodkar) and just happens to learn that her beloved older brother also fell prey to Surajbhan's schemes. In an instant, Shiva immediately grasps the need for a hero to step in and bring Surajbhan tumbling from his throne.
