Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Comic actor Charles Ruggles made his second screen appearance in Paramount's The Majesty of the Law. Written and directed by Julia Crawford Ivers, the film was a showcase for that magnificent old ham George Fawcett, here cast as Judge Randolph Kent. A diamond necklace and a huge sum of money are stolen, whereupon Kent's son Jackson (William Desmond) assumes the blame for the thefts. Sorrowfully but determinedly, Judge Kent must honor the letter of the law and sentence his own son to prison. It turns out, however, that Jackson was actually covering up for the true culprit -- or, in this case, culprits.
