Synopsis by Janiss Garza
Nell Woodward (Betty Brice) arrives in New York City from the West and almost immediately gets a break in the theater. Randell, the manager of a Broadway show (Murdock MacQuarrie) needs a quick replacement and takes a chance on her. She is an overnight success. She meets Hugh Gordon (Jay Morley), the dope fiend son of a wealthy family. When Gordon's mother snubs her, Nell weds him out of spite. But apparently she really loves him, because Randell, angry at her marriage, fires her on the spot and blacklists her. She refuses to dump Gordon, though, and struggles to support him by singing in low cabarets. Finally, Hugh's mother offers her $5,000 to leave the city. She takes the money but takes her husband with her. They head out west, where after a lot of effort, she cures him of cocaine addiction.
