This documentary chronicles a blind couple's first year of marriage. Both Margaret and Armand Bakalian are in their 30s and have professional careers. Neither have ever been sighted. To marry Margaret, who works as a personnel analyst in her home in Sacramento, Armand quit his successful computer programming job in New York. Once there, he finds it difficult to find comparable work, and this puts a strain on the marriage. Margaret too feels strained as she has always led a very active life--in addition to her career, she is also an excellent flautist, and has taken up ballroom dancing -and is feeling hemmed in by the increasingly dependent Armand. Though the two are seen dealing with a variety of problems, they are also seen enjoying many happy moments. In the end, the two decide to remain committed to staying together.
