Synopsis by Jonathan Crow
Before he became a Hong Kong cinema icon in the mid-'90s, Stephen Chiau starred in this straight-ahead horror-comedy. While investigating a drug-making lab, street cop Piao (Bill Tung Biu) is shot dead. Upon arriving in the underworld, he bribes an otherworldly bureaucrat to let him return to the world of the living and investigate his own murder. According to the administrators' deal, he is paired up with a rookie named Hsing (Chiau) who is still very wet behind the ears. Despite some initial differences, the two come to an agreement -- Hsing will help find the killer if Piao helps him woo his boss' beautiful daughter. Piao's former partner turns out to be a Taoist priest, which proves to be quite useful as Piao's killer has enlisted the help of an evil wizard.
