The Voice of Ljudmila director Gunnar Bergdahl offers a cinematic amendment to his decidedly personal examination of the Chernobyl disaster by presenting the harrowing story of fireman's widow Ljudmila - whose lost not only her husband in the devastating meltdown, but the couple's unborn child as well. It is only through the companionship of her son Anatolj, born three years after the disaster, that the grieving Ljudmila is eventually able to find comfort and hope for the future.
