Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The Little Samaritan starred Mary Pickford-clone Marian Swayne as Lindy Lou, an orphan girl left in charge of her strait-laced grandmother. Try though she may, Lindy Lou cannot get into grandma's good graces, nor is she able to overcome the scorn and derision of her peers. When the church collection box is stolen, suspicion immediately falls upon the innocent heroine. But when it is revealed that the thief is actually the son of the town's leading citizen, the rest of the population falls over itself begging for Lindy Lou's forgiveness. Of interest is the fact that the mystery is solved by the combined efforts of the heroine and an African American hobo, the latter character portrayed quite sympathetically considering the racist tenor of the times.
