Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Shirley Mason plays a convicted murderer in this drama -- an unusual role for the spunky and diminutive actress. Ramsey Latham (Frank Morgan) is unfairly convicted of stealing money from the bank where he worked as a cashier. While on his way to serve his time, he meets Hilary Kenyon (Mason), who accidentally killed a man who tried to rape her. Hilary is paroled, but she finds life for an ex-con harsh. When Latham gets his parole, he marries Hilary and takes her to the ranch his attorneys have purchased for him. They have a baby but are constantly under the shadow of a law that prohibits parolees from marrying. Arthur Converse (J. Frank Glendon), who served time alongside Latham, tattles to Sheriff Brad Milligan (William Tooker) in hopes of getting a reward for reporting a parole violator. But Milligan is sympathetic to the young couple, and he uses his pull with the governor to get them pardoned.
