After hearing his dad Ward (Hugh Beaumont) complain about the number of bills he has to pay each month, Beaver (Jerry Mathers) buys Ward a book titled "I Became a Millionaire in Twelve Months." Although Ward seems happy with the gift, Beaver quickly ascertains that his father hasn't read any of the book, nor does he intend to do so. Beaver's disappointment over his dad's apparent lack of ambition is the catalyst for the episode's touching "man-to-man talk" finale.
