The Big Boys were the behemoths of Union Pacific's fleet, carrying 28 tons of coal and 25,000 gallons of water. Last of the Giants, Vol. 1: Union Pacific's Big Boys examines the giant articulated locomotives, with a look at the development of steam engines, illustrated with historic footage and animated graphics. The film includes cab shots and trackside views of the 4884s in action against a backdrop of Wyoming's scenic Sherman Hill. The program was written, directed, and produced by Union Pacific historian Allan Kreig.
