Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
To pass the time while she does chores, a little Jewish girl makes up the story of the Ampelopede as she remains hidden on a French farm during the Nazi occupation. The Ampelopede is a missing-link primate. He is being held captive by a farmer. Every so often, the farmer captures a young maiden and throws her in with the creature with the hope that it will produce offspring.
