In this French-Canadian drama, a woman returns to her mother's farm accompanied by her daughter. They go there to reunite with the former prisoner of war who worked upon their land until he returned to Germany in 1946. But the man the woman remembers is not exactly the man she now sees, for he has become an old man with a preponderance for living in the past.
