Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
The hero of this story is on a divinely ordained mission: he is a newspaper's proofreader. Most people might not consider this a vocation similar to the priesthood, but in this Sicilian comedy, mild-mannered Giorgio does. In fact, he even goes so far as to proofread the film's opening credits. Anyone who has ever worked in the publishing business knows that they owe their good name to the faceless minions who proofread their copy, and it does indeed seem that proofreaders feel they have a special mission. While Giorgio is passionate about proofreading, one of the men who taught him the craft advised him that life was not the same as proofreading, because whatever errors one makes are permanently part of one's history. In this case, one of Giorgio's missions is to team up with his buddy Carlo to save the good reputation of a woman they both love.
