Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

On May 20, 1883, the Indonesian island of Krakatoa was reduced to nearly a third of its former size as a result of a dramatic eruption that sent waves reaching 100 feet in height crashing into Asian shores. With more than 36,000 citizens killed in the catastrophic event, the eruption of Krakatoa would go down as one of the most devastating natural disasters ever to strike Asia. Now, thanks to scientific exploration and computer-generated effects, filmmakers are finally able to recreate the eruption of Krakatoa and explore how events really unfolded on that fateful day more than 100 years ago.
