Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
After the death of a magisterial old family leader and retired general during the screening of a new "partisan" film, his effect on the lives of his community and his family becomes clear in the way they prepare for his memorial celebration. The one who suffers most is the general's son, a violinist in the local orchestra which is to memorialize him. When the son was much younger, he brought shame on himself and his family by stealing something from a local church, and he has many mixed feelings about himself, his life, and his relationship with his father.
