Not to be confused with the 1949 Humphrey Bogart film of the same name, the British TV anthology Knock On Any Door was created by Ted Willis, co-author of the popular police flick The Blue Lamp and prime mover of several TV cop dramas, including the long-running Dixon of Dock Green. On this occasion, Willis not only wrote most of the 50-minute episodes, but also served as the series' host. Essentially a "slice of life" endeavor in which the mundane activities of everyday people somehow metamorphosed into melodrama, Knock On Any Door was seen courtesy of ATV in 1965.
