Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Based on the 1977 novel by John Quigley, the British drama series King's Royal was set in Victorian-era Glasgow. The story focused on a family of Scotch Whiskey distillers, from the humble beginnings of their business to their pinnacle of affluence and prestige. Alas, the family was doomed to disintegration thanks to a deadly feud between two ruthless cousins, not to mention the sexual peccadillos of the other members of the clan. Making its BBC debut on January 10, 1982, King's Royal unfolded over ten 50-minute installments.
