Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein

Elmo Lincoln, the screen's first Tarzan, came to the end of the serial line with this inexpensive chapterplay from low-budget Rayart, a troubled production that caused the death of supporting actor Gordon Standing. The latter, who played the villain, was attacked and killed by a lion, a tragedy which Lincoln himself thought could easily have been prevented. The star reportedly soured on filmmaking and retired in favor of vaudeville, only to return as a bit player in the late '30s. King of the Jungle, in which Lincoln played a game hunter, also featured 1926 WAMPAS Baby Star Sally Long, Arthur Morrison, Cliff Bowes, and Virginia True Boardman and was released in ten chapters.
