Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
In this film that uses clichéd depictions of its central issues, Hanna is a young Austrian professional woman who is Jewish but does not have a strong sense of her own heritage -- though she finds it difficult to put the horrors of the Holocaust out of her mind. She keeps meeting with Friedrich, the son of a German Nazi and a holdover of that generation's insistence on an Aryan "superiority." Their obviously opposite beliefs and historical antecedents can only lead to tragedy in the end.
